Physical Ministries

Physical ministries is the legacy of Hills and Hollers Ministries. Our roots reach back over 30 years. During this time, McCreary County was the beneficiary of thousands of volunteers, from numerous churches, that volunteered countless hours, to do home building and repair as summer missionaries. As the original organization began morphing into HHM, our ministry reach started to expand. We still have and will grow a very vital home repair ministry. This is really the main thrust of our volunteer base. In the summer of 2006, we saw 13 volunteer organizations come into the hills and hollers of McCreary County to repair housing. Volunteers come and go however. HHM remains ever present.

HHM has partnered with other ministries to provide food, clothing and shelter. We see this as key to meeting people where they are. We also maintain a benevolent fund to help as many folks as we can when the only thing left to do is give. Physical ministries are vital to our vision. Our goal is to continue to grow this area and in some cases, replace partnerships with in house ministries.

Family Ministries

In the US today, it is widly believed that the family is disintegrating. McCreary County is not immune, on the contrary. HHM is seeing a rise in spousal violence. This behavior is so contrary to the message of Jesus that HHM is working independently and in conjunction which other church, para-church and state and county organizations to bring education and relief to this area.

Another area of concern within the family is drug and alcohol abuse. We partner with Teen Challenge, using their material and methodology to educate all on this terrible epidemic.
