Here's a taste of what's currently being served up here in the "hills and hollers".
As of the Fourth of July, we are halfway through our summer mission program. Folks from across the country have visited our little community and left their footprints on our hearts.
A team from Ephesus Baptist Church, in Roopville GA, spent a few days building a porch and ramp for Jessie and Carl Martin, as well as clearing brush from her overgrown property.
Miss Jessie supervises the progress of the work, singing old Gospel hymns to the team as they labor.
As well as being hard working folks, the Ephesus team holds the distinction of having the LARGEST vehicle I have ever guided back into the hills and hollers.
The team from Community Presbyterian Church, in Lombard IL, returned to the hills and hollers to bring light into a special little woman's life, in the form new windows... and their love.
What began as a minor floor repair turned into a major rebuild for the CPC folks working at the Duncan home.
A third CPC team labored to provide Aggie with a door and ramp, enabling her to enter this part of her trailer for the first time in four years. Within 72 hours the paramedics had to use the new ramp to take her to the hospital.
The home of Ray and Audrey was suffering greatly from age and weather. Our wonderful friends from Trinity Baptist Church, in Raleigh NC, stepped up to the challenge of saving this special little dwelling.
The TBC team rebuilt the porch, added a door, replaced all the windows, and installed new colored metal roofing on the home, all the while stepping into relationship with the homeowners.
As work on Ray's home progressed, a few of the Raleigh team members built a new porch and ramp for Ray's invalid mother.
