Here's a taste of what's currently being served up here in the "hills and hollers".

Another summer mission season is history.  "Thanks" to the especially hot and humid weather, this was one of the more difficult years we've had to endure.  We do appreciate everyone who worked so hard to care for some very significant need.

The Appalachian Construction Crew, from Virginia and Nebraska, once again set their hands and hearts to building a new home for a very needy family. By the way, this was the 26th home this team has built in McCreary County. Talk about a SUSTAINED ministry!
The team from Community Presbyterian Church, of Lombard IL, arrived to help finish the home of Dwayne and Lola Brummett. Their old home had been gutted by fire in the spring.
Jim Barney and his team from Downers Grove, IL, labored in the heat and humidity to seal the walls of Kathy Vaughn's home with house wrap and vinyl siding. What a difference!
The Greg Vaughn family just had an addition (a baby) and needed an addition (a room). Our friends from Trinity Baptist Church of Raleigh NC provided just what the "Doctor" ordered. Not only did they frame in a room for the older two boys, but they installed a new roof for the young family.
The Roberts family has tried, for years, to make this add-on to their trailer a bedroom for Mom and Dad. A team from Calvary Church, all the way from Los Gatos CA, arrived to help make that dream a reality.
Our home church, from Oak Brook, IL, stepped in to finish the new room on the Vaughn's trailer. Within a few weeks two of the Vaughn boys had this place decorated and they moved in, complete with all their toys.

A little sweat, a little blood, a few sore muscles, a couple of tears, and a lot of hearts filled with loving compassion for some folks who really needed to see God's Love in a tangible way.  Thanks to everyone who endured the heat and humidity to build "relationships"!
